01 — What we do
Most of what we get called for is one of these nine things. If yours isn't on the list, call anyway — we've probably seen it in a house built the same year as yours.
Gas, electric, power-vent and tankless. We stock 40- and 50-gallon units on the van, so a straight swap is usually a same-day job — out by lunch, hot water back by dinner. Expansion tanks, T&P valves, drip legs and flue draft checked every time, not just the tank.
Kitchen stacks, main lines, laundry drains. Cable machine for grease and roots, camera inspection when we need to see what we're dealing with. We'll show you the footage.
Slow stains on a first-floor ceiling, a water bill that jumped $80, a hiss behind a wall. We trace it before we open anything, then repair copper, galvanized or PEX and patch what we cut.
Moving a sink, adding a powder room under the stairs, gutting a 1950s bath down to the studs. Rough-in, inspection, fixtures set and tested.
Ranges, dryers, generators, garage heaters, outdoor grills. Black iron and CSST run to code, pressure-tested, with the paperwork your inspector wants to see. We also do leak-down tests on existing lines before a sale.
Northeast Philly basements flood. A properly sized pump, a battery backup and a backwater valve on the main is the difference between a wet floor and a $9,000 cleanup.
January calls, usually before sunrise. Thaw, repair, and — if you want — insulate the run so it doesn't happen again next year.
Running toilets, dripping shower valves, kitchen faucets that spray sideways, hose bibs that won't shut off. Small jobs are still jobs — we don't upsell a faucet into a remodel.

03 — Who you're calling
Plumbing N Things started in 2004 out of a garage on Hoven Road with one van and a hand-me-down Ridgid machine. The neighborhood was full of houses going up in the fifties with galvanized supply lines that were finally giving out, and there was more work than one guy could carry.
Twenty-odd years later it's still a small operation on purpose. Two licensed plumbers, a shop behind the house, and a phone number that rings on a real person's hip. We don't run a call center, we don't subcontract your job to whoever's free, and we don't quote a number over the phone that we then "discover" was wrong once the wall is open.
What we do instead: show up when we say, tell you what's actually wrong in plain English, give you a price before we start, and clean up after ourselves. If a repair isn't worth doing — if the tank is 14 years old and the anode rod is gone — we'll tell you that too, even when the replacement is the bigger ticket.
We work mostly in the Northeast: Bustleton, Somerton, Parkwood, Rhawnhurst, Mayfair, Holmesburg, Fox Chase, and over into Bensalem and Feasterville when someone's willing to wait for us.

We do take emergency calls outside these hours for burst pipes and no-heat situations. Call the number and leave a message if it rolls — we check it.
The shop is behind the house, off the driveway — look for the two white vans. Hoven Road runs off Bustleton Ave near the Somerton border, a few blocks north of the Red Lion Road intersection. Plenty of room to pull in if you're dropping off a part.
